We are doing our best to assist with financial aid for families in need. The following represents our financial aid programs.

Federal Lunch Program

If your child qualifies for reduced lunch or free lunch, the Arizona jazz Academy will offer the following need based scholarships:

  1. Reduced Lunch- 10% Tuition Scholarship
  2. Free Lunch- 15% Tuition Scholarship

These scholarships are based solely on need. It is hoped that parents or students will assist in the office but not required. They are available on a first  come first served basis. Parents must bring their Federal Lunch Program approval forms to qualify.

Work Study Scholarship

The Arizona Jazz Academy offers work/study scholarships to students and parents based on need and desire. There are a LIMITED number of scholarships available and these are determined by a first come first served basis. Families can apply for up to $200 in tuition reduction in exchange for work in the AJA office and facility.

Duties may include bookkeeping, answering the phone, making calls, cleaning the office, rehearsal rooms or bathrooms, photocopying and taping music and more.

Work Study will involve a contract and commitment.

The general rate for work study is:

  • $5 per hour for adult/parent work.
  • $2.50 per hour for student work.

High School Teaching Assistant

There are a limited number of teaching assistant positions available for our most advanced high school students. Each TA will be assigned a Middle School ensemble to assist with on Saturdays. The duties may include warming up the band, organizing and passing out music, taking roll, doing errands, copying music, playing with sections of the band, directing the band, etc., etc. These paid positions will be compensated based on ability, performance and merit. TA's will be expected to model the best rehearsal, performance and personal behaviors. Each TA will be issued a contract and job description. TA's will be expected to fulfill their commitment every week.

Families applying for Work/Study or TA positions need to write a letter of application to azjazzacademy@aol.com outlining interest, need and qualifications.

All financial aid is based on availability of funds.
